03subyR
So after putting stock fuel pump assembly into place I notice gas smell and wetness around the seal cover for pump core. I took it out, tighten everything nothing works. It's leaking when car is off when fuel tank is under pressure. Don't know what to do. Is there some kind of sealant I could spray on? Thanks, Max
Firepuma
Did you tighten the seal down like you do a wheel? I had to go around mine quite a few times before I got all the slack out of bolts that hold the pump seal down. Try that, you may not have got it as tight as you think, I went really slow 3 cranks a bolt and it honestly took about 10 mins to take out all the slack-
03subyR
I am afraid of breaking them. I heard that they break very easy.
Firepuma
That's why I say go slow and work your way around and do not overtighten. Some reason or another you don't have the seal seared correctly-
03subyR
I am so frustrated with this. All my holes matched don't know why it does not seal correctly. This is second pump I installed on my car and never had an issue with previous assembly. I will try to tighten them little more.
Rushin
you most likely put the metal cover in the wrong way. I worked on the 2011 that i faced same issue.
03subyR
But there is only one way to place metal cover. It should line up with groves on the pump and it did.
Rushin
I think it can be flipped 180 degrees and not fit right.

m sprank
Make sure rubber o-ring is in proper orientation and between tank and ring. A pic might help.
