shadowsports Posted July 12, 2011 Share Posted July 12, 2011 Hopefully none of you will have to go through this, but if you do... Lost my primary set of keys with my remote start FOB the 4th of July. Have searched high and low, retraced my steps and they haven't reappeared. First time for everything, but feeling like a dumba$$. I called 3 local Subie dealers and each of them wanted an arm and a leg for the replacements, + more money to cut and program. I found the key itself on eBay, but no one seems to sell the remote start FOB, except Subaru. I also tried various automotive locksmiths, but they charged even more than the dealers. Decided to buy the replacements from FBP. Not only will they sell me the key and start FOB for a great price, but they offered to cut it for free. What it is about California based Subaru dealers? They all charge full MSRP for parts and then wonder why all of us buy from dealers out of state. Seems that almost every state except CA has a Subie dealer willing to sell mailorder. Not even the dealer where I purchased the car offered this.
