ECU Problems ???

I have been doing some searching on here and can't find a problem like I am encountering.

 

If I am posting in the wrong area, please let me know.

 

I am new to the concept of tuning, but would like to become familiar with it to the point that I can tune my own car, or at least understand what is going on.

 

I have the latest Subaru EcuFlash definitions including the updated 32BITBASE.xml file. COM port speed is 4800 baud.

 

I have a 2005 Outback 2.5 XT Limited.

 

Using EcuFlash I select the option that has the 2005 DBW OBXT.

 

It scans for a few minutes, completes and tells me to turn my key to off if I am done. When I select OK I am told that EcuFlash could not recognize this ROM image using any of the current definitions..

 

I saved the image off, but it won't open, says the size is incorrect.

 

Learningview gives me the error that my ECU ID is not supported. It tells me the ECU ID is -- 2F12795106

 

RomRaider will log ok (have not done a WOT log, just making sure it would work)

 

As a side note, if I create an image inheriting from the 2005 USDM OBXT and compare to ECU it comes back as identical.. Testing the write comes back as identical as well.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.
