OnTheEllipse
I recently picked up an '08 Outback and love the foam false floor template Subaru provided from the factory. I'll be rebuilding the false floor out of wood and mounting a 4 channel class A/B amp and a mono class D subwoofer amp. The only problem is I have to retain the rubber mat in the back. I'm worried my amps will cook in there. Are there any proven methods on this forum for venting that space? Thanks in advance
garbo41610
I would think heat would definitely become a problem. I my 2010 Liberty (Legacy) GT wagon, there is sort of a gap between at the bottom of the rear seats and the end of the rubber boot mat. Perhaps you could look and venting through there, I am assuming it is the same in the Gen4??? This space being the width of the boot itself, it would provide more than enough air flow for the amps. soloz2
Get a crossflow fan meant for a PC. It runs off 12v and is wide and flat. Current: 16 Crosstrek Premium w/ Eyesight & 05 Outback XT 5MT Past Subies: 14 FXT Premium, 14 WRX hatch, 06 Legacy 2.5i SE 5MT, 98 Outback wagon
OnTheEllipse
I understand how to blow air around in that area, but being that the rubber mat covers pretty much the entire floor, i'm not clever enough to think of a way to bring new air in and hot air out without cutting up the mat
