blongo804
the outlines of Subaru and Legacy are still on my trunk (I left 2.5GT there). It's been buffed 2 times, by 2 different people, with 2 different kind of buffing machines. The outlines would disappear for a little while, but then come back. What else can I do to remove these outlines?! I don't wanna have to repaint the whole trunk.
bakabakablah
Try wetsanding it.
cds1320
I had that problem when I took mine off too, I had clay bared it and waxed it with not much help but it eventually just wore it self off.
bakabakablah
I figured someone would have used a claybar at least once if it's been buffed, but if it hasn't then it's an excellent suggestion before resorting to wetsanding.
blongo804
Claybar will be first! My father had mentioned wet sanding, too. Any recommended grit to start at? 2000? 4000?
bakabakablah
You should start with the least abrasive first, so 4000. I believe you'll need some compound too, along with a rotary or random orbital polisher... wetsanding marks will take too long to polish out by hand. I'd send OCDetails a PM about this stuff before you do anything though.
blongo804
Good idea, bakabaka! I'll have to PM OCDetails soon. Didn't even think of that. Thanks for your help
