Tramlining on SoCal highways was most pronounced with Continental Extreme Contact and Pirelli Zero Nero AS tires, non-existent with Michelin Pilot Sport ASes My Conti ExtremeContact DWS tires are horrible with tramlining. Superb in the snow, but i'll never buy these again.

AZP Installs
Must be dealer specific. I had the 100K Gold Warranty Plus and took it in for a check-up and the tech said that the struts were "done" at 89K and replaced all four under the GW+. I am good friends with the head of SOA's Extended Warranty Area and they don't cover Wear and Tear Items, specifically the struts. Your particular dealer may have pushed it through though as a favor to you. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg AIM: AZP Installs | E-mail: paisan@azpinstalls.com | 725 Fairfield Ave | Kenilworth, NJ 07033 | T-1 Certified Amsoil Direct Dealer "Race Tested, Enthusiast Approved!" SBT
Mike - anything is possible. All I know is that he said they were shot and were replaced under the 100K GW+. This is the same warranty that covered the clutch, PP and FW after the PTW had expired too. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

Not sure what the ALRK is, but I did the AVO offset Rear LCA bushing, and the WL Roll-Center and Bump Steer Kit at the same time. The dynamic difference was amazing. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

Can't be right, the Subaru Gold warranty definitely covers struts, it's one of their listed items on the comparisons page. http://www.subaru.com/finance-center/added-security-comparisons.html I'm actually a bit interested in "Cause and Effect". Seems like they're saying any cause that is warrantied would also warrant effects (turbo sending shrapnel into an engine?)

Seems like they're saying any cause that is warrantied would also warrant effects (turbo sending shrapnel into an engine?) While it says it covers shocks/struts there, I'm fairly sure that there is a time/milage limit after which struts are considered a wear item, similar to tires. At least that's what my warranty gold said back in 05 when I got it. They have been expanding out coverage as time goes on which is a good thing. My 2011 STi has the clutch, brakes and wear items covered for 3/36k under the stock warranty which is different than it was in the past. -mike
SBT
Mine had 89K on the original struts and they were all (4) replaced under the warranty... Clutch, PP, TOB, FW were at 72K and were replaced. Rationale there was that the PP had failed and was causing chatter and slipping issues so everything was replaced under warranty. Both completely stock at the time. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

So I can see in your case because the PP failed it caused the other issues and therefore they replaced those. Maybe the struts were replaced because they were leaking as opposed to worn out? I can see if they are leaking it could be considered a "failure" as opposed to a "worn out" -mike

keithk831
Keith831 - any update on yours before we get too far afield with warranty discussions. I have already considered this thread dead to me ;-) I ordered new KYB struts and new strut mounts. They will be here tomorrow, and will be installed Thursday. At this point I'm starting to think it has a lot to do with the struts, mounts, and tires.
amp583
I think i noticed this as an issue as well... I cant be positive but i went from 17" GT OEM to 18" Spec B, on my 08 and noticed the steering is different. Is it recommended i get a bump-steer kit to correct this and/or roll-center kit? You have to check out this thread below which discusses sucking air into the PS system. I did the 4 clamps around the PS tank and noted a big improvement, at 54k miles. I'd be willing to bet that almost every legacy over 50k miles suffers from this to a certain extent. Good luck! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1799692
