d_jamont
Gents, I am noticing some high pitched sqealing, rotational in nature, that shows up after about 25 kms of driving (commute to work). I can't determine where it is coming from, but my wife thinks it is from the rear, as I had her listen as I drove past her on the street several times. The noise seems to go away with braking, and is only more noticeable at slow speeds, as I pull into the neighbourhood at home, or the parking lot at work. I have Hawk HPS pads on OEM rotors that have been re-surfaced once about 40,000km ago. I had some brake "creaking" that I think is related to the pad contacting the inner edge of the rotor that is not shiny, braking surface. It does not seem to be tied to that, as it shows up after a long highway drive without using my brakes, so I think it is maybe a build up of heat? Help!
