Replaced LCA Bushings- Problem Came Back

@ ShadowImg. I get what your saying about the energy and stress just being transfered to the next weakest part... makes sense. oh and fast driving is never fun on shitty roads. with the info you just passed on to me, Id like to do the upgrades for the improvement in handling still. I was just curious if doing the upgrades would possibly do me any harm... OH and tires Ive been running Nexen N 3000... tep A trac AA. we dont get much weather out here so i can get away with them all year round... i also have a new set to throw on... the ones on the car have about 40K on em (looking a bit scary at this point)

Yeah, but remember that a stiff high performance low profile tire is going to make things worse. The tire is a very significant portion of your impact absorption in your suspension. It'll do good things for your handling, but if anything stuff is probably going to wear out/break faster, not slower.

I have a fully stock suspension on my wagon with 82k on it... I've had the LCA rear location bushings replaced 3 time in the life of the car... at the moment i am needing to do them again in combination with ball joints. looking at my options, I wanted to go with both the

 

KCA313 Roll centre/bump steer - correction

and

KCA334 Anti-lift/caster - control arm lower inner rear

 

I was also looking at the PSRS / Anti-Lift Kit (ALK) Zero Offset as an other option.

 

can anybody give me some suggestions on the most durable fix... I drive the worst roads i have ever seen. its like rally driving without the drifting. I like the fact that im going to improve the handling of the car as a result of better parts but its not my concern as much as durability. Doing the work myself, I don't want to have to do it again in 20K.

 

We have installed the Whiteline stuff on a ton of NYC/NNJ driven cars and had great success with them. Everything from race cars to Soccer Mom Cars!

Whiteline makes a front bushing too.

We stock and sell both the inner and rear lower control arm bushings. It's a good idea to do them together.

So what sort of NVH do stiffer than OEM bushings introduce?

 

So far not enough to annoy soccer moms that we've installed them on yet. :)

^^ It's not that bad, but you do feel the road more, like feeling the individual rocks in asphault is a good way to describe it. My car also feels more "fidgety" probably from the ridgidness of the bushings vs the old lax OEM bushings...

That's what I was looking to find out, what kind not what amount :)

So from what I understand it's mostly in the steering wheel itself as far as feeling every imperfection?

I'm just trying to decide for myself if I should replace my worn OEMs with OEMs or aftermarket :) I can't say I've identified a problem I want to correct so I want to see what I'm missing out on.

Steering wheel mostly, but even in the body of the car, sort of like when you have snow tires on.... it's not really that bad, the fidgety feeling is what I dislike more.... but it seems to be much tighter on quick corners... having to do it again it would be a wash whether I go OEM or upgraded, OEM is way cheaper and mine weren't that bad even when torn...

It's not that bad. I actually think the wheel feels better now and more responsive.

 

I had Whiteline front and rear lower LCA bushings installed with Whiteline steering rack bushings a couple months ago. The feel was fantastic, but has slowly gotten worse. Not like it was before, but enough to notice.

I'm hoping new struts will solve the issue. I have some new Eibach springs and slightly used Konis waiting to be installed.
