tubasteve
Hi all, I have had a leaky headgasket for a while (10k+mi) on my 04 LGT with 110k miles. Its a minor leak, less than 1/4qt between oil changes, but it leaks on my exhaust and stinks. This week I have noticed in addition to the burining oil smell there is a burning rubber/plastic smell. Awesome development, any ideas? I wanted to hold off on the HG repair while I save money for it. Maybe I better be ready for HG service sooner than later? The car never overheats, no oil/coolant mixing and she runs stronger than ever. I recently replaced the radiator hoses & coolant, oil change and spark plugs. Oil in the plug holes so I was planning to do my valve cover and spark plug gaskets. Could this smell be valve cover or spark plug gaskets? Any ideas/tips would be appreciated
