how to Not heat soak a SRI?

have a Cobb SF intake, stock tune, I know its bad but I ran it but now I'm going back to stock air box but keeping the Cobb after MAF tube.

Reasoning behind this is last Saturday cruising for an hour on a cool night. Pulled over to chill, popped my hood and the intake was so hot.

In the future when I get open sourced tuned I want to put the intake back on.

I know you can buy the Cobb cold air box, does it really work and will lower IATs? If not are there any alternatives?

The box will lower temps. This intake actually runs pretty cool with the box as the air induction scoop forces cool air into it.

When I had it, it heat soaked more easily than the KSTech cold air, but cooled considerably quicker and at highway speeds intake temps were exactly ambient.
