brembo fitments?

I kno somebody on here knows what i need to know. I have been wanting to peice together my brakes and i want brembos but when i see them for sale 04+ idk what to jump on. Will all calipers work? I would just need to buy some 5x100 sti rotors to work for the calipers? Please let me kno as i wnna get this done before summer.

 

Oh and i see red, black, and gold rotors. Which ones are which? and what do you think the best color would be for my rbp lgt on goldies? Thank you for any feedback.

From what i remember the fronts as long as you run 04 rotors should be fine if its within 04-07, the rears require a bracket to fit those rotors on or you can get the special rotor specific for our ebrake or something liek that.

Here is the breakdown...

 

Front:

'02-'11 Calipers

'04 STi Rotors

Direct Bolt On, no changes, issues, etc.

 

Rear:

'02-07 Calipers

'04 STi Rotors

Calipers will need the Kartboy Bracket to fit properly.

If using the '04 STi Rotors you will need a thicker parking brake pad OR a special set of '04 STi Rotors that have a sleeve pressed in for the parking brake to work.

Special thanks to those who had helpful info.

 

BAC5.2- i will be honest i haven't looked as hard as a could have but i have looked on and off since i bought my lgt 2 yrs ago. Nothing i saw told me what worked with what and what i should look for both front and back so my doing this was really helpful and ill begin my brembo hunt.

If your looking to doing the swap as am I its about $1300 for the f/r rotors (dba 4000, rears are sleeved), rear adapter pieces, f/r pads (hawk HPS), custom lgt-brembo brake lines, and fluid. Thats with out buying the brembo's which go from like 900-1200 for both front and rear.

 

Just a heads up.

I got the wheels covered, no worries there. I did plan to buy used everything to get my started so that should reduce price. Honestly im debating if i should even do the rears do to the lil amount of braking they do either way.

I would pass on the rears. When I had my LGT I ran Brembos up front and the stock setup in rear with Hawk HP+ pads all around. Worked very well on track at Watkins Glen, Pocono and on the street. Some will say that it messes up the bias but I think that is a placebo effect.

Believe me I am concidering everything.

 

Now I have a good question, would it be possible to place the stock lgt front rotors in the rear and just run brembos up front and the larger lgt fronts in rear? Ill just scrap the old rears.

 

Please excuse me if they is easily a retarded question but obviously im not brake smart lol

Nor should you run front rotors in the rear. You'd lose the emergency brake, which is completely unacceptable.

 

What we really need is Centric or someone to make a conversion rotor. Decent quality, 170mm parking brake compatible, rear Brembo rotor that's affordable.

We need them to make it for ANYONE looking to put rear brembos on their car. WRX owners have the same problem. 170mm rear parking brake. Means you need expensive DBA rotors or fat parking brake pads (which aren't an ideal solution).

 

I bet if one of their distributors made the comment to them, they'd listen.
