Catbeater
So i'm thinking about doing the install to add a GPS double-DIN unit to my car instead of the stock radio (specifically the Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT)... My main concern is putting a 900 dollar head unit in my car with no real security that i can tell on the unit itself. I've never owned anything but a single-DIN system, and those you could just remove the faceplate... but it doesn't appear you can do that on the modern touchscreen DVD/GPS units. My question is... what do you all do? I just REALLY don't want to get my car broken into and my new 1000 dollar setup jacked up....
Ballaholic
If you have the money purchase an alarm, If you dont, try and park in a garage. Both of these will decrease the odds of a theft.
garbo41610
Depending on the cradle with the headunit, some of them allow you to screw the headunit and cradle into the dash mount. If not, then a fake flashing red LED can do the trick...
