215_2.5
this is my first stick car so might sound noob but just trying to figure out that the problem is. Once i get going in like forth gear or fifth if i add a lot of gas the rpms go up but the speed doesn't. This the sign of a clutch slipping? car has about 62xxx miles. Any other way you can tell if it's really slpping? thx
airgasm
Yup, it is slipping. Another way to tell is if you floor it in 3rd or 4th and smell that wonderful clutch afterward. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
ehsnils
It's slipping, time for a new clutch. It may suck, but compared to many other problems that you can get with the car it's bearable. A clutch can be replaced by almost any workshop - it just takes time. And you can choose between either dropping the gearbox or lifting the engine.
