BAC5.2
I've seen a few threads from Sedan owners on how they routed things, but I was wondering how wagon owners did it. Has anyone been able to run wiring without drilling into the hatch/trunk? I pulled the hatch trim down this morning, just to inspect things, and my initial location is not going to work out like I thought (I was going to run wiring through the grommet that the license plate lights go through). Any other ideas? I guess I'll leave the camera out of my install tomorrow. ssbtech
I installed the Sirius antenna in the wing and used the rubber flex-hose that connects the liftgate to the car. Been a while so I can't remember what runs through it.
BAC5.2
Hmm. I have a camera that replaces one of the license plate lights. It looks VERY clean, but I need to get the wires into the car. I guess I could drill under the trim piece, then paint the area with touch-up paint to keep it rust-free. I'd rather not drill into the car, though. ssbtech
You should be able to go through one of the rubber hoses next to the liftgate hinges. They provide a path between the liftgate and the inside of the car. Does that camera have a built in licence plate light? One light would look a little goofy. BAC5.2
It does! It might look goofy anyway, though. I might get an LED replacement for the left side light, if it looks too funny. But how do I get the wire into the door? That's my biggest concern. ssbtech
Unfortunately I don't remember how the panels of the door go together. I know you can get the wire through the rubber hose and into the door, might take some fishing to get them down to the licence plate location. It's been too long since I had mine apart. BAC5.2
I just need to get the wires from OUTSIDE the door (the license plate light) to the INSIDE of the door. I can easily run the wire up to the rubber elbow.
