Ferenczy33
Running an aftermarket downpipe I have been without a heatshield for some time. However I was at the local performance auto parts store and came across a universal fit heat wrap for the turbo and also heat wrap for the downpipe. Looked this product up online and they make claims of 60% reduction in radiant heat, eliminates turbo lag, etc. At $40 for the turbo and downpipe kit I saw, worth it? Or waste of money? http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/products/turbo_heat_shields_and_down_pipe_insulation/
Ferenczy33
I think I found the answer I was looking for on NAISOC. Sounds like it's worth the $. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=564288&page=
boostedgrocerygetter
i know you stated you found the answer but still figured id give my 2 cents. but from my own experience and from others i work with that drive turboed vehicles this stuff works def helps cut down on engine bay temps. guy i work with drives a gst and his oil dipstick is right next to exhaust manifold. before wrap after driving he was unable to even get his hand near the stick to check the oil or even touch it due to it being hot as hell. after the wrap the stick gets warm..but not hot. works very well in my opinion.
