Living Legacy
Hey guys, About five weeks ago I noticed slippage under full throttle in fifth gear on my '05 LGT with 80K on the clock (I had just got on the HWY and was winding her out). On my drive home from work I got the car to slip in 4th and 3rd gears-a total of three "slip events" that day. I went right to LGT and did my research, I've already ordered and received the following from Fred Beans: '07 LGT Exedy OEM Clutch kit'07 LGT OEM SMFWTSK3 KitNew flywheel boltsNew trans axle seals (just in case, ask th3 Franz ) I was planning on replacing the clutch with my buddy at his shop this weekend, the only problem is that I haven't felt the clutch slip AT ALL since that fateful day five weeks ago. Should I hold off on replacing the clutch until it starts slipping again? I haven't had any noticeable TOB issues or any other driveability concerns other than the one day. I'd like to get the most out of my OEM clutch but also know that auto X is coming up and I would hate to miss a couple specific events. Is it possible that I some how glazed the clutch disk and now everything has been cleaned off and will last a couple thousand miles more? TIA! 02semiata
I see no point in keeping the stock clutch in working or not. Do your best to install it so you don't miss your auto x. That is what I do when I have to work on my auto x car lol You already paid for the parts now go use them.
