i have an 06 2.5i and was looking to improve the suspension in my car. i have just over 100k already and want to do something before i need to do something. i dont know really anything about the suspension in my car and i have read quite a few threads up to this point. i dont really want to lower my car too much since i live in new england and the streets are horrendous around here. this is my DD and i am just looking for an improved suspension that is comfortable for my passengers (mainly my toddler) and myself. something reliable that isnt too bad on the pocket is preferred. any info is greatly appreciated as well as terms to search for or links to helpful threads. again thanks for any help that is always provided from the members of this forum

KYB struts and get a upgraded rear sway bar. At 100k your struts are shot. Also look at replacing your lower control arm bushing on the front A-arm. You should also consider a rear sway bar mount upgrade if doing a larger rear sway bar. Rallitek is vendor here and has a decent priced end link set. They are decent units and a good deal. They can help you with the sway bar and bushings too.

Good luck, and read through the stickies if you have not already.

All I need now is a hill holder and a center passing light...

These tighten up the chassis a bit around the suspension. Cusco and Subaru have versions too.

The KYB GR2s are merely a stock replacement strut. I'd upgrade to either Konis or Bilstein HDs. Konis will work better w/ the stock 2.5i springs, as the Bilsteins are meant to run w/ Spec B tophats and front springs designed to go w/ those tophats, e.g., STI pinks, JDM LGT springs, Swifts, etc.

The KYB's are generally 10-15% stiffer than stock they bolt up with the stock springs and mounts. For the price they are the best of the stock replacements out there. If you got the cash and want a little drop Bilsteins/specB tophats/Pinks are quite a upgrade with out too serious a ride height drop.

I really think you would be happy with the KYB's and LCA bushings to start with for the cost and your stated goals. I mentioned them because they are usually not listed in the stickies which are mostly more performance and "stance" oriented.

ya i am considering the KYB's, dont have tons of cash to spend on the suspension. just rather do it now while i have some extra from taxes and such then when i dont have the cash. not really looking for a drop or anything, just taking precautions. the info 05LGTLtd gave me seems to fit my needs pretty well. i am not planning on going crazy with my legacy. just a nice simple DD that feels good when driving. i do a lot of highway driving for the time being and never race my car or anything like that. just some spirited driving on the highway time to time when im by myself. i will prob go with the KYB kit, rear sway bar and mounts, bushings and endlinks. just looking up some more info before i pull the trigger. i will have a pile of things to put on my car in the near future. these suspension components, some hella supertones sitting in my trunk, i plan on doing a little to the grille and possibly headlights if i can gain the courage to put them in the oven... dont know about that one tho. getting a little sidetracked... but ya not really going for better performance, just an upgrade for comfort from a car with 100k+ miles and still climbing.

+1 KYBs are just a stock replacement, and not much of an upgrade. Koni's are the way to go.
