Monkeyshack
Hello, In my commute to work I noticed the AC cutting out and for a slight second blowing warm air. Anyone else noticing this? We are getting into the 100’s down here and I just want to make sure something is wrong and that this isn’t normal. Shouldn’t the AC be on a constant flow? Or does it/can it cut out for a slight second (which could be vital to my survival… ha)?
Brady
Normal. Do a search and read up on the Climate Control. Or ... Read the sticky at the top of the forum. All is cleard up there. You could just go to manual mode also instead of Auto.
sduford
Yep, its "normal". Just a poorly designed ACC. It modulates the A/C on and off instead of blending in warm air to achieve the preset temperature. Very annoying. Sylvain www.digitalfotographer.com - Audi Q5 Club - MB-GLK Club
Monkeyshack
Ahh I thought it would work a bit different with the manual controls.. sad I'm going to die... lol It will feel like I have the flu... hot sweaty flashes and cold flashes here I come
gfxdave99
Yeah it seems like it gets confused with the dual ac, i find that if i keep them both down around 68 it seems to stay cool most of the time except when im on the highway.. Probably my only real gripe with the car. Hopefully they'll figure it out and issue a TSB to fix it If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti
mwiener2
Also, if you give it a decent amount of gas, it will cut the compressor untill you get off the gas. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons

mwiener2
The Compressor still cuts out under medium to hard acceleration on the manual climate control as well. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
