abaksh
Hey everyone, I am looking to purchase a remote starter and install it myself. I went to a local shop who had a kit which was an add on to the system. Basically you press lock unlock and lock again to start the car. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please let me know, thank you in advance.

Aodhan
I recommend Compustar Pro series. This is what I run, and love it. Not a single complaint. Although I would highly recommend professional install.
abaksh
I'm not sure why I didn't mention this, but I am looking to maintain the factory remote as well. I ended up purchasing a 4301lx and a 556uw, as I'm told these together will allow me to use my factory remote. Now I just have to set aside the tine to install. I know there is a DIY on the forms but I believe its for an 05 outback. are the wiring schematic similar to an 08 legacy?

Nothing better. 1. dont install it yourself, especially if you have warranty. 2. I dont believe any unit will allow the factory remote to disarm the alarm. Although your factory remote will still pop trunk and do the panic alarm, and unlock the doors.
