adversexreality
I decided to fix the rattle box today by tightening a lot of bolts, and by doing so i think i messed something up... well i DID mess something up. I turned the car on and i noticed a scraping noise, going in tune with the belts. when i hopped in the car and turned the wheel, i heard what sounded like "chewbacca" (a moaning noise) I believe i tightened a bolt above the power steering pump? and blew a seal or something because now the hose ( that the bolt is connected to) is leaking fluid on to; what i believe; is the PSP. Here is a picture to aid my stupidity. ( this is not my engine bay, closest picture i could find. I HAVE A 2007 2.5i ) I make T-Shirts! and I Detail Cars(I'll go to you!) Send me a PM!! burnout8488
If I recall, that bolt on a Legacy 2.5i (picture looks to be of an impreza?) tightens a PLASTIC fitting to the PS pump. Perhaps you cracked it with too much torque? Were you needlessly tightening every bolt in the engine bay?!
GEE-OTTO
you more than likely over tightened a bolt and cracked a seal if possible get a pict under the hood for us of the leaking area and we will probably tell you the best way to correct it
adversexreality
i'd had it with everything rattling, i was tightening most of the bolts for the body/fender/grille replacing pop-its.. i must have hit this one by accident (probable) im taking it to subaru tomorrow, i have the gold plan warranty. they will probably shit on me as usual.
