carnumber19
Going to pick up a set of low mileage 05 WRX Struts and Springs after work today for $100, pretty excited about it. Just want to know if there's anything I should look for other than obvious damage or the struts not having pressure. Also, what can I expect in terms of ride quality/comfort changes? subikid90
night and day lol. Make sure there are no leaks and if they cleaned them up it may be because of leaks. How many miles are on the struts/springs? -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
carnumber19
The guy said 31,500 but doesn't have any documentation, he picked them up for his 2.5RS and sold the car before the upgrade.
carnumber19
Picked them up, they looked fine and the price was right, they are living in the trunk of my Legacy until I can get them on.
bigran82
Will this lower the car at all or is it just for a smoother or stiffer ride? Sorry for my noobness. lol

Sorry for my noobness. lol ::shrugs:: I've never done it. Just from looking around it looks like it can lower or raise it by about a half inch, but tends to just stay about the same. They will be going on in January so I'll take measurements of the car before and after and let you know. As far as the ride, I can't wait.
The Grouch
You should expect a bit of lowering. And your ride will be stiffer, but smoother if that makes any sense.
Lookatmyrust
it wont bounce as much.. it will soak up the bumps... i need to do this but i wanna raise the car. its so hard to find good raising setups...

Yup, higher spring rates mean less overall travel compared to the last springs, and better struts mean higher damping of the motion.
