stereo noob aquires a 12 inch Cerwin Vega V-MAX sub

My Car

Recommended Posts

ok so I dont want to have to find a stereo forum to ask questions about the Cerwin Vega V-MAX 12.2 sub that I found today. I figured that you guys shold know enough to answer my questions.

heres the story. I found a working V-MAX 12.2 sub today next to a dumpster and upon testing it with a 100 watt in home stereo found out that it is one badass woofer and I want to put it in my car. I know the stock stereo in my 94 legacy wagon is no were near up to par on powering this thing. I did my research and found that its max is 1200 watts.

I'm basically a stereo noob. Is it possible to find a stereo powerful enough to power this without another separate amp? also I am in need of new speakers all around but I will take care of that. I just need to know the best and cheapest way to get this monsterous sub blasting in my ghetto looking station wagon.

also max watts is not what you are going to power it all the time, its the max it can take for short periods. power handling rms is what you want to look at and a amp that matches that.

Amp wiring is not that hard. Power, Ground, Left/Right Positive Negitive. I spent $25 for amp wiring kit w/ speaker wires and $60 on my amp + $8 for a line out converter and the sub sound is right where I want it. Just wished I had some better quality music:(, had my friend in my car with his ipod and I loved the deep bass in his music :(

5eat downshift rev match:)

Powder coated wheels: completed:)
