BAC5.2
Anyone actually pull the trigger and order one of these kits? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Slime-Flat-Tire-Repair-Kit/14254126?sourceid=1500000000000003260530&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=14254126 Seems like not a bad price, and everything you need for DIY repairs on the road. I'd much rather patch the tire if I get a flat (using the plugs included) than run the spare. For $60, it seems like a pretty decent value. Input? never summer
Plugging a tire really wont last that long. Most shops around here will only patch a tire now because of the plugs failing. But, no I haven't used this kit.
BAC5.2
Really? I've seen fantastic results with the good, sticky, tar plugs. But, then again, that was some many years ago... Drift Motion
I've plugged one of my tire before then proceeded to do alot of drifting on them till it showed wire...lol but I heard using those green stuff pretty much make your wheel super nasty on the inside... BAC5.2
I doubt I'd ever use the green stuff. I mostly wanted the kit for the compressor and the patches. Pricing that compressor out from other sources, it's ~$60 itself. Drift Motion
ask amazon to price match it no tax + free 2 day shipping if you have prime and you can get a pretty decent compressor for like 20 bucks, and those patches are 10 bucks max
Dodik
i've used plugs a few times and always carry a 5 dollar kit with those sticky rubber strips and a foot pump (9 bucks at autozone) takes a few min to get the tire full but it beats unloading a full trunk of camping gear just to get to the spare and you dont even have to lift the car. the green stuff i tried a long time ago and it didnt work at all while an inflatable cans that they sell at parts stores do work, even managed to plug a hole on the sidewall once of course i generally go to tire shops to get them fixed - patched - properly when i get a first chance but for on the road repairs plugs do work that kit is overpriced and isnt worth it just buy a small plug set and a compressor separately or a foot pump even cheaper and works really well when you got friends to do the work lol
Scooby Fan
I have carried a compressor and plug kit for years...used it a number of times on our various Subarus...after I plug a tire I take it to a good tire shop where they grind off the part of the plug inside the tire and then patch over it....Works great!! This is the compressor I use http://www.campmor.com/airman-rescue-tire-repair-air-compressor.shtml?source=CI&srccode=cii_13736960&cpncode=19-57460959-2 No idea why it is so expensive on that site....I got mine at canadian Tire a couple years ago for $24....way better than having to run around on the "Pizza cutter" spare looking for a tire shop;)
