ryoowatari
...and discovered the worst case scenario. The front nose of the tranmission casing, sawed clean off when my throwout bearing went. Is this a common issue? I'm going to have to send SoA the bill because I have one of those (hopefully) useful gold plans. What do you all think? sactojesse
Apparently, the grooving of the trans snout is quite common, hence the popularity of the TSK3 (transmission snout kit) modification: http://www.fredbeansparts.com/index.php/subaru-legacy-gt-tranquil-tsk3-sleeve-kit.html My snout was boogered when I just had my clutch done, so the shop put in a TSK3 along w/ the ACT HD clutch kit and single mass flywheel. Yours is pretty butchered though.
caramall2
So did the TSK3 completely replace the throwout bearing? (E.g. did they remove the ACT throwout bearing?) Mine is apparently going and need to replace it. :-( Found out...it replaces the whole clutch release (throwout) bearing.
