stoggy Posted December 7, 2010 Share Posted December 7, 2010 Hi all, I just changed my instrument cluster, hvac and other lighting fixtures in my BE to blue LED's. It was a fair bit of mucking around getting the right bulb sizes and so forth, but for those that do not wish to change the bulbs i found a great alternative--photo gels. They go over the flash on cameras to give pics a color filter and they do a great job at changing the backlighting on most instrument clusters and displays. i used it on my hvac controls--just cut the piece of gel (it's only plastic) to fit the area you want and voila! This works great because I bought all white LED's and just siliconed onto the LED the photo gel color of my choice. They come in red, green, blue, yellow, and the best part is you can layer multiple colors to achieve different colors like purple. Anyways, paid $24 for an 8 pack of gels at my local photo store.
