kevin_o
My buddies called and are trying to take out the ball joint on the lower control arm up front. Will somebody please tell me proper procedure to remove it so I can tell these goons how to fix it. I'm in school to be a mechanic, but have little to no experience with Subaru's, sorry guys. rmb2485
What exactly is their problem? Can't get the ball joint out of the lower control arm? Loosen the nut, then use a pickle fork to pop it loose.

rmb2485
or bang on the nut if u dont have a pickle fork around I've never had good luck with that method, but it's always worth a shot. With the brute force method, it also helps to hit the side of the control arm at the joint. Either way, leave the nut threaded on a turn or two so that when the thing comes loose parts don't go flying everywhere. Forgot to mention that in my first post.
