Macleous
Hey guys, I'm having problems with my 93 Legacy LS (EJ20). It starts up normally and idles high(1100-1500rpm), when I switch into drive/reverse the engine immediately bogs down and the rpms jump all over the place, I also have a huge loss in power, I mean I probably have <10%. I really need help with this and it seems like the engine is running on half the cylinders at times, I just replaced the spark plugs, wires and coils. There is also no CEL and after I drove it a bit with low power(had to get it back from the mall) the engine bay smelled strongly of burnt plastic. Thanks in advance
bobec
well i kinda had same problem, but i washed my engine at power wash and i got a bit of water in my spark plug wires.... so try cleaning the spark plug wires? or maybe you put something wrong? PaladinXT
IAC (Idle Air Controller)? I've seen many similar posts about those needing a good cleaning. Seems pretty straight forward. Reccommended that you remove it from the car, clean it with carb cleaner, reinstall. This way you can be sure it is good and clean. I may be doing this myself here soon since I think this car was rather neglected. Spark plugs first though since I just bought em
