naimouasta
ok i have a 2008 legacy 2.5i. i know the pcv is located on the block compared to the older subaru's where its directly on the intake manifold; but why is it a $30 part vs $3 part for the older subies? i'm at 65k miles. should i just let it be?...take it out to clean?....or buy a new one? also i was thinking of getting catch cans?!? i remember reading somewhere that our cars don't like catch cans and will through CEL's? (for 2.5i's)
ShrinerMonkey
The old test was to remove the valve and shake it. If you could hear the valving moving around then the PCV valve is still good.
apexi
I would check other parts sources, it shouldn't be that much. I'd talk to fred beans parts, they could probably get it for you cheap, and maybe ship it pretty cheap since you're close to them. http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/cp_partdetail.php?partid=14078
