Blue
Just got four new tires from The Tire Rack. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in 225-45/17 (plus zero). The installer noticed that three of the tires (one in particular) are not round. He showed it to me - when he put the wheel/tire on the spin balance machine and spun the wheel I could see the tread moving up and down. Total movement is less than 1/4 inch, but clearly there was some movement. The wheels all balanced fine. Is this non-roundness common? The worst of the out-of-round tires is currently on the back and I don't feel any vibration. I'm going to move that tire to the front and see if I feel anything through the steering wheel. Any other thoughts? FWIW, Tire Rack and Michelin will exchange any tires that are "bad" and pay to have the new tire mounted and balanced.
Shawn06SpecB
seems like a "no brainer" to me to get them exchanged ASAP
eldiablo
got my new tires mounted / balanced today. The installer noted that they see this type of problem once in a while, but it's not a common thing... Tire Rack rules - have them send you a new one. My VB Garage...
