1990Legacy
Hello all, I joined up in trying to figure out what the part under the center console that the seatbelt reels up into, that connects to the automatic part on the door is called? I guess the shoulder belt assembly? I need to replace this to pass inspection (shoulder belt torn, looks like a whole assembly type of part), but have no idea where to start looking for this.. Thank you very much, and I look forward to browsing the forums! 1990 Legacy 4 door

sqc151
u obviously know the part. if ur belt is ripped u need to change the unit under the console. go to the junkyard, take it out and put it in ur car. its that easy.
Bdubs
That part brand new costs a lot of money. But, if it is the belt that is torn, Subaru has a lifetime seatbelt replacement warranty. You could always try and see if they'd replace it under the warranty.

subikid90
Do what bdubs said. Call the dealers around you and see who will replace it. Some dealers wont do it for whatever reason. It takes them like 45mins and its free to you. And you get the new $300 part for nothing. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
