I'm trying to figure out exactly which engines can swap with mine with the least amount of worry. 05 legacy gt 5mt. I know the ej255 what about the long block ej257 and any other engines. I'm trying to find out what engine i can just drop in place of mine, the dealership didnt know when i called so if anyone could help me id appreciate it I have an ej255 and a ej257 that are within my price range. robbie_R Posted September 29, 2010 Share Posted September 29, 2010 Pretty much just 05-09 Legacy GT if you're doing the entire long block. Or I gues 08+ WRX too maybe but I think the heads are different. Just short block then pretty much any turbo'd 2.5 Subaru will work. So that is the FXT, OBXT, 06+ WRX, 04+ STi, LGT.
