vanman281
The coil pack went bad all of a sudden on my 97 LGT. I replaced it with a brand new one and 2 days after driving it the new one went out as well. I'm wondering if there may be a short happening somewhere, although I haven't noticed any wires in the wrong place or sparking anywhere. Any ideas to what may cause a short to the coild pack? subikid90
I know those wires are exposed when they connect to the coil pack. If you haven't yet I would try and follow the wires and make sure they are not damaged. Maybe you got another bad coil pack? I know sometimes new parts fail quick if you end up with a bad one. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
vanman281
Both coilpacks were good. I took the IAC valve off to clean it and forgot to tighten the ground wire.. that's been the problem the whole time. I felt like an idiot after my dad looked at it, wiggled it to see if it was tight and found it wasn't..
