rcascoob
'94 Legacy L Wagon EJ22 NA - There's another filter below my fuel filter in a bracket that I just noticed today - Looks like it goes back to the tranny but I couldn't trace the lines to the front or back
rcascoob
Called parts guy at Sub dealer - Apparently there was a dealer option to add an extra transmission filter after the fact. Was quoted $55 - ouch. Might just have to bypass the thing then. P/N: 31099 AA031 if it will help anyone else out in the future. Found this too - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2516
ehsnils
Just leave the filter there. Bypassing it can be worse than having the filter there. You may release a lot of dirt into the gearbox system and get "interesting" problems.

rcascoob
I searched high and low, Google, eBay, etc. and I already Shelled out the $55 to Subaru Tulsa, so it's a case of too little, too late.
