quick4dr Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 my car was vandalized in my condo parking lot. someone sprayed the back of the car quarter panels, trunk and bumper with brake fluid or some sort of acidic stripper. paint bubbled up and dripped off the car and is all sorts of f*d up. made a police report, car is already at body shop. spray also ruined my new wheels flaked the paint right off them. anyone have experience with insurance covering this type of deal?
BruceBruce Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 my car got hit by someones fist and left a dent in it and my roof got messed up by someone walkin all over it. Filed a claim with my ins company and they sent out an adjuster to look at it. They than mailed me an estimate and check. I had to go to a body shop to have it compared with their estimate. If it was different than i would of had to have that body shop contact my insurance people and they would than cover the difference. it was covered under comprehensive too.
SCSpecB Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 That sucks! Someone recently went on a spraying spree in our area with a can of blue paint. Luckily neither of our cars got hit with it, but felt bad for the cars that did. Gotta love people.
lilrabbit129 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Unfortunately thats all too common. I've come out to people sitting on my hood. There's a reason why property values drop when there's an apartment/condo complex near by. I can't wait to move out of mine and into a house.
lofthouse_gt Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Wow, very sorry to hear. I really hope this is all covered, by insurance. I think it's time you set up some security cameras near your car, you can't let someone mess with your baby like that.
