Chameleon Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Hey everyone, just looking for some feedback...i have been searching and searching with no conclusion. Looking to run this possible set up and need to know if a good idea and if a lot of work would be involved. 18x8.5 +35 .... debating 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 Suspension would be Eibach Pro Kit on Koni Yellows. Thanks in advance.
05LGTLtd Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 If you can't find an someone with this set up, I'd proceed in stages. If you have not bought the wheels/tires yet, then do the suspension work first. That way you can see where *your* car is sitting and then judge from there... All I need now is a hill holder and a center passing light...
Code Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 The garnish looks like it would crowd the opening even more than the quad tip already does. you be trading melty for rattley. What it needs is double-walled tips and correct fitment. Invidia has failed miserably since their initial release. "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder
Code Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Wow sorry. Wrong thread completely! Good luck with your wheels! "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder

That way you can see where *your* car is sitting and then judge from there... Good advise. First get your suspension on and then you will definitely get a clear ideas as far as what may be involved to make your wheels fit. I have always gone this route with my cars and it saves you a lot of guessing and frustration. Not too sure as to how low the Eibach set-up goes. Either way, I believe you may still have to remove the rubber fender edge liner and roll your front and rear fenders some just to be safe.
cbarela Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 18x8.5 +35 .... debating 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 Suspension would be Eibach Pro Kit on Koni Yellows. Thanks in advance. Regarding the tire options you listed above. My current wheel and tire set-up is a 18x8/et35 with 225/40/18 tires. With just a 1/2 inch difference on the wheel width, I know the 225 tire will fit just fine. The 215 tire will give you somewhat of a "stretched" look.
Chameleon Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 thanks cbarela ... you are the closest i've seen to running what i have in question. any pics of your current set up? what kind of suspension do you have?
cbarela Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 thanks cbarela ... you are the closest i've seen to running what i have in question. any pics of your current set up? what kind of suspension do you have? My suspension is KYB shocks with Tein S-Tech springs. Here are some pics. Sorry for the attachments, can't remember how to post full size pics on the forum, it has been a while.

Chameleon Posted July 30, 2010 Author Posted July 30, 2010 i have 18x8.5 +20 with 225/40/18 the slight stretch is looking nice Pics please! What suspension u running? U must have had to pull and roll alot for that offset.
Drift Motion Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 i was only commenting on how 225/40/18 looks on the 18x8.5 but if u want a pic its on my 240sx http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t99/blackrms13/rms13/000.jpg trying to sell/trade these for some 5x100 so i can put them on my legacy... heres another pic of the "stretch" http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs289.snc3/28107_10150200638660471_770705470_12764246_6672528_n.jpg logo was photoshopped on but as you can see the slight stretch is nice if I do it again, I'd probably go with some 215s so I can tuck the tires under the fender nicely
