Crooked Rain 1x1
No prob, thanks for the reply. do you think its sort of pointless to try so hard to get the adjustable top hats? or is it good enough with the spec b's? The only reason I can see I would need them is if I get aftermarket wheels that are real big and they rub. but I could fix that by having the fenders rolled. any thoughts? DukeTrout
I also have the Cobb BPV. It's a nice solid piece. I've got it on 100% recirc. Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!
scoobydoobie
I also have the Cobb BPV. It's a nice solid piece. I've got it on 100% recirc. Think I'm gonna switch mine back to 100% recirc. Noticed the car backfiring a good bit since having it on 50/50.
DukeTrout
LOL. My car backfires, anyway. A bit more often on E85 than pump, and less now that it has a Tim Bailey tune, but it still pops a bit when I let off the throttle. It's not a true backfire, anyway, just exhaust system combustion. Call it anti-lag! Ich bin echt viel netter, wenn ich nuechtern bin. Echt!

scoobydoobie
I need me an FMIC. Have you noticed any difference since you installed it? More lag? More sustained boost at higher RPM? Anything? Infamous was able to increase timing quite a bit with the FMIC, as well as up the boost a bit. 19 peak psi tapering off to 13 or so near redline. Plus, lack of heatsoak is always a good thing . Although when I first installed the FMIC and was logging the car, performance sucked! Was hitting only 15 psi or so and WGDCs were maxxed out. Put in a smaller restrictor pill (1.00mm) and all has been well ever since. The FMIC flows too much air for the stock turbo w/the stock pill (or more so, the stock turbo can't flow enough air for the FMIC).

scoobydoobie
No new mods lately besides adding some Rally Armor UR flaps. Have a few things up my sleeve though for the spring/summer (new catback, new sways/endlinks, new LCA bushings, 07+ 60/40 fold down rear seat conversion +more). http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5295/sb02z.jpg http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/1246/sb04.jpg http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1264/shsb02.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5509/shsb03.jpg

scoobydoobie
May as well update this thread since I've been making a few changes here and there. - Added chrome wings back to the stock grill to add some contrast: http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/589/car01e.jpg http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2346/sh200906.jpg http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/3241/lgtrain.jpg http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/3077/mud02.jpg - After doing a lot of driving like that^, I knocked my front lip loose a couple of times and took it off for a while (maybe permanently). Loved the look but really affects clearance a good bit. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/8382/roof05.jpg Then installed a Stanza roof spoiler: http://img807.imageshack.us/img807/3540/roof01.jpg http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4977/roof04.jpg http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6571/subieq.jpg - Also installed an STI front lower arm bar: http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9505/stilab01.jpg http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/5622/stilab02.jpg - Most recently, swapped out the Rallitek 19mm RSB for a Hotchkis 22mm RSB, Kartboy enldinks, and Progress reinforcement mounts (front bar/endlinks hopefully going on soon): http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7623/5281101.jpg http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8925/5281102.jpg - Swapped the Bosal/SPT v.1.5 catback for a Stromung exhaust: http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/6088/stromung04.jpg http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/5449/stromung05.jpg http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/1760/stromung07.jpg http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9091/stromung08.jpg http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/6467/stromung06.jpg [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU1fyZG6EG4]YouTube - 05 Legacy GT Stromung exhaust[/ame]

scoobydoobie
Latest mods.. Subtle Solutions alternator cover: http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2752/new06.jpg http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/1865/new07.jpg Bought a legacy wagon cargo tray to see it would fit. Fits with a little persuasion, and not an exact fit, but does its job well. http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/9831/new08.jpg http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8149/new09.jpg New wheels, Drag DR-31 17x8 +47 in charcoal grey. For now re-used my same 225/45/17 Continental DWSs since they still have plenty of tread, but the plan is to try and fit some 245/40/17s under there when its time for tires again. Only have a couple crappy cell phone pics of them for now but here they are, let me know what you think. http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/6162/39425632.jpg http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/628/21010186.jpg Future mods that I have in my possession are Spec.B front LCAs with Whiteline bushings pressed in, Whiteline RCK, Hella horns and a lightweight crank pulley. Will update thread as parts go on.
scoobydoobie
Forgot about this thread. Slowly continuing the DD build. Painted fog bezels black, went back to a fully blacked out stock grill (no more chrome wings). Most recently, I upgraded the brakes. Front Brembos (from an 08 STI) on with OEM pads and new Centric rotors. Rear got new Centrics and Hawk HPS pads. Goodridge SS lines front and rear. Don't mind the dirty car/wheels/tires: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/9100/brembo02.jpg http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2088/bremo03.jpg http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2020/bremo04.jpg http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4284/brembo05.jpg
scoobydoobie
Finally got the last of my suspension mods on . Had my mechanic install Spec.B aluminum front LCAs, Whiteline front LCA bushings (rear is caster version), a Whiteline RCK, and alignment. Also had him throw on the Perrin crank pulley I've had sitting around for years. The LCAs/bushings/RCK/alignment literally made a night and day difference. I haven't had the chance to push it too hard but WOW the handling is awesome right now. Hardly noticeable increase in NVH. The crank pulley made a noticeable difference as well. Seems to help the 5EAT rev a bit quicker and get going off the line easier. Pics of the new parts: http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/6558/under02.jpg Only installed pic so far (when it was still on the lift): http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/4624/under01.jpg Also had the car detailed yesterday, washed, waxed, headlights restored, and key scratches buffed from an incident a week or so ago. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/7213/54749875.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/6513/83056651.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/10/12225988.jpg Stoked that the braking and handling mods are finally complete. Soon going to throw a front lip back on and then focus on making the car more longterm DD friendly by putting the OEM catback on again and switching from the RacerX FMIC to a Process West TMIC.
