Need help deciding

05ObpLegacy2.5i

Recommended Posts

I am looking to put a double din screen in my legacy. I have an 05 2.5i limited which means I have the dual HVAC climate controls. I have found three different console panels that work with the dual hvac cc.

AV Panel Set(replaces radio in center):

or

Double DIN console Panel(replaces cubby):

or

Double DIN console Panel(replaces cubby/different dimensions):

I know there have been fitment issues with the AV Panel Set but it is doable from what I saw in other threads. I have not been able to find any useful threads for the Double DIN console Panel for the cubby. I just wanted to know which one would be the easier to install. Money is not really a problem atm so I am open to other suggestions for this as well.

Go with the first option. I just test fit mine today and hooked up the AC to verify it worked and the fitment is extremely close to stock. The gaps just aren't that noticeable IMO (of course I don't have my head unit mounted yet). I'll take pics and post them a little later.

Here are some pics. After 2 days I will never notice the tiny gaps again. :lol: And I will be painting the shifter surround black to match at some point.

Plenty have used that double din console panel and there are some good close up photos around here (sorry for no link) that show a gap in the lower right corner due to the RHD/LHD angle difference.
No, the name has nothing to do with bragging about 20 inch wheels...
