johnegg Posted June 14, 2010 Share Posted June 14, 2010 just got an email from someone asking if the 5sp tranny will fit in a 98 forester it has a 2.5, pretty sure it would but i dont wanna sell someone something and it doesnt work it's moot now, but the truth is that it will fit and the final drives are the same. the only possible differences are the speedo gears, they match the stock tire size, and the clutch type, hydraulic vs. cable. but even if the clutch is different it is easily converted to the other. 96 - 99 2.5L legacys, outbacks and foresters all have the same final drive ratios, MT = 4.11, AT = 4.44 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
