EyeFlyIsTheEye Posted June 3, 2010 Share Posted June 3, 2010 It's very easy to remove. Pry off the shift boot/shift plate then pry off the shift surround. Disconnect the wire then unscrew the ashtray. The ashtray basically keeps closed with a gear-and-cam system. It sounds like it might have fallen out of its track, which is an easy fix.
