'06 2.5i audio upgrade

As my wife has recently moved on to a '10 F150 for various reasons, I have inherited her 2006 Legacy 2.5i SE.

Thankfully, I have the manual CC, so that should open my options a bit.

Id like to snag a nice HU, components for the front, whatever for the rear doors, and a 10 or 12 inch sub for the trunk. I had a PG RSD10D in my WRX, and loved it. Tight, clean bass that could go low in a nice, stealth sealed enclosure. Id like to stick to the same in the Legacy, and not give up my precious trunk space, as I travel a good bit for work.

The thing is, I havent shopped components and head units in over 4 years, so I have no idea whats good and whats not. Ergo, Id like some suggestions. :)

I havent even thought about budget at this point either, but lets say "middle of the road".

Id like:

aforementioned stealth sub setup

4ch amp to drive mains

2/1 amp for sub (have already, 300w RMS, remote boost)

Components for front

Whatever for rear

Nice head unit with good iPod integration

(possibly) HD radio

Suggestions or comments?

Ok, so right now Im thinking:

Pioneer AVH-4200 in the double din cubby

Infinity 475a to drive components up front, door speakers in rear

Infinity 1300a for sub

Phoenix Gold rsd10d maybe?

I still havent decided on front and rear speakers. I also need a nice, compact box for the sub, preferably one that mounts out of the way somewhere.

Find out the depth of the AVH-4200....if its the same as my Avic-D3 then it will stick out about an inch past the cubby, and you will have to create a "frame" for it.

Behind the cubby is a metal beam so you dont a lot of space to stick the double din flat with the cubby. But I have seen other members have been able to with other brands such as Eclipse or Kenwood.

If the depth is the same as my D3 then you should probably go with the option below for a cleaner look.....

You should look into this and cut it to fit the double din, only $20....

Or this which is ready to go, but $50....

I did a quite a bit to my audio..

Scoche double din ([ame=http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-SU2025B-2005-Up-Subaru-Outback/dp/B001EBJTK6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1298833649&sr=8-1]Amazon.com: Scosche SU2025B 2005-Up Subaru Legacy/Outback DIN With Pocket or Double DIN: Automotive[/ame])

Clarion double din with nav and bluetooth

Alpine Type R components

Alpine Type R coaxials

Alpine Type R 12" subwoofer with dual voice coil

Alpine MRP-M500w 4 channel to power all four speakers

Alpine MRP-M650w monochannel to power the sub

Just purchased some sound deadening to install when it gets nicer out.

All in all it sounds fantastic, my only complaint is the rattle i get when i turn it up but hopefully the sound deadening with improve that.

Also with most speakers you will need to pick up some speaker spacers because the depth on most good speakers is pretty big. There's a guy on here that makes them and sells them. Really good product. Made the install very easy.
