Theride
do the tweeter wires go straight to the HK amp under the seat?

Theride
Thanks. One of the reason I ask this is because i keep reading people saying there is a T connection between the woofer and tweeter in the door. And there is a filter which separate the signal between the tweeter and woofer. I know I can resolve this by putting the crossover in the door but I wanted to install the crossover in a place where its easily accessible. SVXdc
In models without the h/k system, the HU puts out 4 channels and the tweeters are wired in parallel with the front door speakers. Each tweeter has a capacitor on the back that serves as a high-pass filter. Subarus with the McIntosh system have a separate amp, but that too only has 4 main speaker outputs (plus a subwoofer output). I haven't heard anyone say (or seen it myself), but I'd bet their tweeters also have caps on the back. In the h/k system, the amp has separate outputs for the tweeters.
