99stocker
Is it me or are front axles for an 05 obxt hard to find? Mine is in need of replacement and I've been trying to avoid going through a dealership and pay $380 for one. Any recommendations?
whitetiger
unfortunately, there are no aftermarket replacements for our axles so you have to get it from a dealer new or find a used/junkyard one. fredbeansparts has nice low prices for oem replacement parts. 99stocker
Rock auto is sold out also. They did say A1 cardone will rebuild one for you, but you have to send it to them and be out of a car for 2 weeks. Why is there no axles for this car? Anyone know the reason? Fee
I bought a replacement axle assembly from axles unlimited after seeing them being recommended elsewhere on this site. It was $239 shipped and that includes the $70 core and a $9 shipping label to return the core if I want. They were extremely helpful on the phone and I'll update how it looks when I get it today or tomorrow. Since the left and right front axles are the same I was thinking about keeping my core and rebuild the boots myslef if the bearings aren't real dirty or chewed up. This way I'll have one ready to go for the passenger side.
Laverne
Why did you pay $300 for an $80.00 part?
