brooklyngenius Posted April 19, 2010 Share Posted April 19, 2010 5MT tranny so every once in a while I notice the car doesnt go into 2nd gear so well. I'll shift and itll feel as though its in gear but as I let off the clutch it just grinds so I pull it out and put it back and its fine and then it wont do it again for a while. Could this be synchros going out or what? the car just turned one year old. useless signature line where i cant mention my sponsors "First Bagged BL5!" Impulse Posted April 19, 2010 Share Posted April 19, 2010 hmm, you check your transmission oil level? if so, drain/refill the oil. Supertech 75w-90 @ walmart is pretty good cheap stuff. 1st and 2nd gear have the largest adjacent difference in gear ratios i think, so the synchros on 2nd work pretty hard.
