Airbag light

I have 2008 legacy i limited. My airbag light comes on and off so I took into dealership. They said I have to replace map lite assembly. It cost 300 to fix it and they already took 120 for diagnostic fee.

 

I have gold plus with $0 deductible. Im still covered under warranty but they said map lite assembly is not covered under warranty. Does anybody have any experience with this? Seems like they are good at finding problems where I have to cough up some money but they cant find anything that covered under the warranty. Do you think if I contact Subaru corporate they will cover this under my gold plus warranty?

 

Also, I wanted to know if I can go to non Subaru dealership and use my warranty. I have other problems with my car but every dealership gives me run around or they say they can duplicate it and refusing to go on test drive with me so I can show them the problem.

 

This is my first Subaru and having so much problem. Errrrr.... Someone help!!!!
