doctorbrody
I just installed Polk DB6501 components in the front and Polk DB650 coax in the back, and when I play something with very deep, droning bass, I get a loud buzz. I can't tell if it's a vibration within the door panel, or a sound that's coming through the woofers. Any thoughts on what's happening? My head unit is from an 06 Spec B with the Jazzy Aux-in, and I have the factory subwoofer.
ibhknl
1. Is the woofer (cone) contacting anything? 2. Does it come from all speakers or just one? Use the fader, fade L to R and F to B and isolate if possible. 3. You could be, but not too likely, overpowering the speakers.... yeah, maybe... peteyjr
Probably some door resonance . Use the above method to track down the offending speaker. Consider either 1) changing the amount of bass to your speaker or 2) changing the cutoff highpass frequency 80-100htz etc and 3) sound deadening or should I say dampening the doors (highly recommended)
