ripsweetness
Hey i have searched and searched and can't find out how to remove the annoying chrome piece underneath the tail lights and would like to know how so i can paint it.. It's the last chrome piece on my car that hasnt been painted so Open the compartment to see the back of your tail lights. Remove the tail light (super easy) once the light is out the chrome piece is screwed into the back of the light.
GTSPECB STI
its piss easy...remove tails as described above..give the chrome bits a bit of wet sanding and then spray them matt black like I did or a gloss. I tinted my tails at the same time and the job took me just over an hour to both. The chrome strips just have two screws that attach to the tails. job done and happy with the results, no more glare and chrome http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY07%20Liberty%20GTB%20STI/GTB%20STI%20mods/smoketails.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/Aussiedave_2006/MY07%20Liberty%20GTB%20STI/GTB%20STI%20mods/011.jpg

Bolksey85
I believe our lights are like most others with a either plastic or metal nuts threaded onto studs. The studs protrude from the light through the body and the nuts are on the backside behind the trim panel.
CCSubaru
Thank you ill see if i can find the nuts
GTSPECB STI
Well there are three nuts that need to be removed on each tail, gently push the tailight from the outside and you will be able to loosen these nuts by hand, then disconnect wiring connection and push the light outwards from the car.
