HDTurbo
Reasonable or Ridiculous? Please comment: I received an estimate of $1995 for the following, installed, in '06 SpecB: - 3Sixty.2 - Focal polyglass 6" kit (incl tweets) - RF 4ch Power Series amp (100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms) - RF P2 10" sub - sub trunk box
str8dwn
- 3Sixty.2 ($500) - Focal polyglass 6" kit (incl tweets) ($400-450) - RF 4ch Power Series amp (100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms) ($450) - RF P2 10" sub ($100-125) - sub trunk box On the high-end before the sub box, you're $1525 in parts. $475 in install incl box is reasonable. Install could take ~4-5hrs, so that's ~$100/hr at shop rate. However, I'd recommend you buy the Wicked CAS box (check if your woofer will fit). The box your shop may make could take up your hatch as it will likely be MDF and not custom formed to the interior. As a wagon owner as well, I appreciate how the box tucks neatly along the side to leave full access to put the seats down.
HDTurbo
Thanks for the input. This would be for my recent SpecB sedan acquisition, so the provided sub box seems OK, design and price-wise. Overall, while it seems a bit pricey, why have a low mileage B with shitty sound? I'm into it for the long haul and expect a windfall this week, so why not have the prog, fusion and jam bands sounding good?
