Lil_Sol
my dad purchased an 05 legacy gt ltd. hes been driving it for about a month now. he loves the car, but there is one issue thats bothering him. when u brake from high speeds, it slows down and then it brakes alot harder all by it self.. its hard to discribe it, let me give u an example:: 100km/h - 29 km/h feels like (A) 29 km/h - 28 km/h feels like you floored the brake 28 km/h - 0 feels like normal (A) what can this be? firedawgs
I am clueless on that one??? Unless, is his foot position the same??? I know stupid question, but I think myself there is alot of play (squish) in the rubber lines; especially after a certain point. Stainless brake lines is the solution for that; my next mod. Ken S
If he has the 5EAT, it could be the tranny downshifting. It's quite noticeable in Sport mode. Ken

axis008
Moved to suspension and brakes section. Good luck with the dilemma. -ben
joeyjojoe
1st and 2nd have a huge amount of engine braking, so i would think it's shifting to second at that point. that's what happens in my MT.
melayout
It may be more pronounced in Sport mode as it tries to downshift to a more suitable gear earlier than in normal Drive mode. 17mph is pretty slow from 60mph, it sure is not normal driving. 100km/h ~ 60 mph 28km/h ~ 17 mph I keed I keeed
Lil_Sol
so its nothin i should worry about? i still think its its too noticable and powerful... shoud i go and get it check out just in case
melayout
I don't know. Sure why not, as long as you can reproduce it reliabily at the dealer. Now if this is just specific to the situation you described, slowing down from 60mph to 17mph, it could just be a characteristic of the 5EAT. From my experience, slowing down from 45mph to a full stop, the brakes tend to bite harder after I'm below 30mph. I keed I keeed
