Scooter
Do a search; there's a couple of applicable, recent threads that will help you out. One is a walk- thru on how to replace just the boot, if you want to go that route. And the other talks about cheap replacement CV Axles from Mac Auto, which are like $70 shipped, vs $320 or so from the dealer. I just ordered one, myself, but it hasn't arrived. My boot was missing a clamp for some reason, so all the grease came out and made a fine mess. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post! SilverStreet05
If the axle is rolling with a torn boot there is a high chance of getting dirt and debris in it causing the cv axle to go bad. I would get the boot replaced ASAP or just replace the whole axle to be safe.
