jrb66
Wondering if any cobb AP owners in the CT/MA area would be willing to help me out... I need someone to help clear the tune off of my car that the previous owner left on it so that I can get my custom tune from Bren Tuning... Apparently without an AP this is not possible.. if anyone would have the chance to help me out I would greatly appreciate it. pm or post,ThanksJon
lordchilly
Couldnt Bren override the previous tune? For AP tunes, I think you need that actual AP unit to unmarry the car.
jrb66
I met with Bren last night and he was unable to over-write the Cobb firmware.. We spoke to Cobb, and the only way to overwrite the software on the car is the re-flash it with an AP. Someone needs to unmarry theirs, marry it to my car, flash it back to stock, and the reverse the process. Once my car is back on the stock map, we can get into the ecu. Anyone out there? I don't wanna have to buy one!
schwinn
I would offer to help, but I'm up in the north-shore of MA... probably really far for us to have to meet. Can you do an opensource flash instead? Over the AP one already in there?
jrb66
Hmm... where on north shore? I will be up there this weekend at some point and I will definitely cover your gas money. Apparently you can't do anything with the ecu once it has a locked AP tune on it.. the firmware Cobb uses is impossible to override with anything.. sschmelcke
i was under the impression that you had to unmarry it with the same AP. i dont think you can use someone else's to do it
